“Power Jack Plate”
by PowrTran
JP75PSS Powr Jack Plate
Rated for a maximum 250 hp motor with a maximum motor weight of 650-lbs, this unit will help you squeeze additional acceleration, speed and fuel economy out of your rig.
Specifications:
Max Horsepower: 250 hp
Max Motor Weight 650 lbs.
Unit Weight: 55 lbs.
Dimensions: 19 ¾”W x 18 ¾”H x 6”D
Vertical Lift: 7.5”
Setback: 6”
Operation: 12 Volt Electro-Mechanical
Actuator Drive: Ball Screw
Construction: 6061-T6 Marine Alloy Extruded Aluminum Frame
Mounting Plate: 1/2" thick
Hardware: Stainless Steel
The JP75PSS features an advanced sleek design with an extra heavy duty 6061-T6 extruded marine alloy aluminum frame that ranges in thickness from ½” to ¾” throughout. A full 7.5" vertical lift provides exact prop height for any condition. With the JP75PSS you no longer need to settle for a compromised transom height, or sacrifice top end speed to get on plane.
The JP75PSS is powered by a PowrTran Electro-Mechanical Linear Actuator rather than a hydraulic actuator that delivers a full 3,500 lbs. of thrust with less than a 25 amp draw on a 12 volt battery. And, the JP75PSS "stays put" where you position it. It will not "back down" like hydraulic powered units.
Our actuators are built and marine sealed to operate for years in a harsh, wet environment. See our Frequently Asked questions to learn more about the advantages of an Electro- Mechanical Actuator vs. a Hydraulic Actuator. |

ADVANTAGES of ELECTRO-MECHANICAL LINEAR ACTUATORS
| |
| Question: |
What is the advantage of an Electro-Mechanical Operation Versus a Hydraulic Operation? |
| |
| Answer: |
Electro-Mechanical Operation versus Hydraulic Operation |
1. |
Environment - Hydraulics fluid pollute. Fluid leaks into the water and evaporates into the air. |
2. |
Dependability - |
a. Electro-mechanical actuators have “zero creep”. They stay where you position them. They will not back down. |
b. Hydraulic cylinders get “soft” and will back down” requiring frequent resetting of your trip position. |
3. |
Precise Positioning- |
a. Electro-mechanical actuators are precise. One revolution of the motor turns the drive x revolutions every time
b. Hydraulic actuators change based upon the amount of fluid in the system. |
4. |
Lower Cost and Lower Incidence of Repair- |
a. Electro-mechanical actuators require little maintenance, are easier and less costly to repair than hydraulic systems. |
5. |
Longer Life - |
a. Because they are mechanical, you can accurately predict the life of electro-mechanical actuators.
b. You can’t predict the life of a hydraulic cylinder. |
